We have started a class blog to share with everyone some of the things we have done in class.

Our Teacher this year is Miss Croxford. Our teaching assistant is Mrs Williamson.
On alternating Tuesdays, Miss Croxford has PPA, Mrs Cain will lead the class that day.
There are 25 children in our class, 16 are in Year 6 and 9 are in Year 5.
Tuesday and Wednesday are our PE days. PE kits should be brought in on Monday and kept in school until Friday.
Friday is spelling and times tables day. Spellings will be given out on a Friday. Children should be learning their spellings and times tables throughout the week.
Reading diaries should be brought into school on a Friday. These should be signed and a comment about what book the children are reading and the pages that they have read during the week should be made.
Homework will be given out on a Friday and is due back into school the following Wednesday.
Year 6 are also given ‘Mymaths’ homework on a Friday. The homework either supports the area of maths that the children have focused on during the week or it introduces the new focus of maths for the following week.
In RE we will be covering the following areas:
Year 6 - Sources - the Bible, the special book for the Church
Year 6 - Unity - Eucharist enabling people to live in communion
Year 6 – Guidance for Muslims
Year 6 - Death & New life - Celebrating Jesus’ death and resurrection.
Our Creative Curriculum Topic this term is ‘Ancient Greece.
During this topic we will explore: Who were the Ancient Greeks?, Ancient Greece Democracy, Ancient Greek Olympics, The Battle of Marathon, Greek Gods and Goddesses and The Trojan War.

In Science we will explore ‘Properties and change of material'. We will cover: Properties of Materials, Keeping Cool, Brighter Bulbs, Disappearing or Dissolving, Separating Mixtures and Irreversible Changes.
In PE our topic is 'Games' (Runners). In developing our Skills, we will look at: Batting techniques, Bowling techniques and fielding techniques. We will also look at batting tactics, bowling tactics and fielding tactics. We will also explore the health benefits and the demands of cricket.
